Elina Networks Announces Major Customer Win

Elina Networks, a provider of networking solutions, today announced that CRI Pumps, a leading provider of stainless steel submersible pumps, is a recent customer win. CRI Pumps is using Elina's ENPAQ Business Gateway to create a networked environment for its business critical databases.

Working with Vertex Infocomm, an Elina Networks Partner, Elina Networks has deployed ENPAQ Business Gateway solution at CRI Pump's headquarters in Coimbatore, India and at all its branch locations across India. These gateways will be responsible for all data network connectivity providing routing, firewall and virtual private network (VPN) functionality to connect CRI's key databases.

Using the solution at each remote branch location, the CRI Pumps will be able to guarantee seamless networking services to more than 200 staff at all times. One of the key reasons CRI Pumps selected Elina Networks was the complete remote management offered by ENPAQ Business Gateways' using its distributed management architecture, allowing total control and central administration of the gateways for all operations, including software and feature upgrades.

Elina Networks appoints Shekar Nair as CEO

Elina Networks has appointed Shekar G Nair as the new Chief Executive Officer. He joins Elina from NetApp where he was a part of Asia-Pacific Sales leadership team.

Elina Networks, a pioneer in networking solutions for Emerging Enterprises, has appointed Shekar G Nair as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Shekar was previously, part of the Asia-Pacific Sales leadership team at NetApp and was responsible for its OEM business. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of NetApp India Operations. Shekar co-founded Allegro Networks in California, USA and was responsible for product operations. Shekar was part of the inception team at Xylan and was instrumental in its successful IPO in 1996.

Shekar will lead Elina through its next phase of expansion and growth. "We are delighted to have Shekar join our senior management team. Shekar brings in a rare combination of entrepreneurial leadership in start-ups as well as in established companies along with rich international experience. He will play a key role in scaling the company to become a global firm," said Vivek Shenoy, CTO, Elina Networks.

The company had recently announced its first release of the enterprise networking software ENPAQ, a comprehensive solution delivering networking, security and management features.

ELINA NETWORKS today announced that Dr Swami Manohar, Chief Strategy and IP Officer of Geodesic Information Systems, was elected to Elina’s board of directors at their meeting held recently.

"Manohar brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to Elina from having helped create PicoPeta Simputers, and we look forward to his contributions as a member of Elina’s board of directors," said Shekar Nair, Elina’s CEO. "Like PicoPeta, Elina is focused on innovation and Manohar’s insights and experience will be valuable in helping guide Elina in the years ahead," he added.

Swami Manohar is a co-founder of PicoPeta Simputers (acquired by Geodesic)
After obtaining his PhD in Computer Science from Brown University he was a faculty at the University of North Carolina for two years and then was a faculty at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, between 1990 to 2005. He has been a visiting faculty at Columbia University, University of Missouri and the University of Texas. While at IISc, he co-invented the Simputer, was awarded the Dewang Mehta Award for Innovation in IT, and pioneered the faculty entrepreneurship activity at IISc, which has since catalyzed similar activity in IITs and other educational institutes in India. He co-founded Strand Life Sciences (formerly Strand Genomics) and String Labs, the first academic incubating company in India.
